We wanted to take a moment to honor a longtime donor and volunteer, Barbara Main, who has been a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer for the past 25 years.
Barbara first heard about LifeCare Alliance through a Bible study group at her church, where she and her fellow members, along with their husbands, began volunteering for a route on Saturdays. She was inspired to volunteer at LifeCare because, for her, ‘It’s the least I can do—to give back to those less fortunate and in need, whether they are strangers or perhaps a friend.’ She hopes that her small contribution makes a difference in someone’s life that day or week—especially when delivering her meal route.
“It gives us the opportunity to provide food for the client and check on them when we stop at their home,” Barbara says. “We get to know the people on our route and really care about them. When a client goes off the route, we get concerned and wonder if they’re ok. It is a privilege to serve each client, as they make every day so interesting and worthwhile.”
