Volunteer Manager

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Volunteer Manager
STATUS: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
LOCATION OF WORK: 1699 W. Mound St.
REPORTS TO: Director of Volunteer Services

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists LifeCare Alliance’s Director of Volunteer Services in managing the volunteer program, including the recruitment and engagement of all volunteers for entire agency with assistance from the community affairs team. Responsible for handling the day-to-day operations of the volunteer department with oversight of groups, individual volunteers, and relationships with program directors in director’s absence.

Manage LifeCare Alliance’s annual volunteer recognition events. Engage nominees year-round for annual volunteer recognitions. Have a minimum of 4 applicants per nomination.

Recruits volunteers and oversees the volunteer system for the entire agency, including bimonthly volunteer orientation training, speaking engagements, planning, growth and development, and participating in program evaluation. Develops policies and procedures, recommending changes to ensure effective utilization of the volunteer resources. Requires understanding of volunteer network, aging network, agency policies and procedures, funder specifications, regulations, as relating to the Meals-on-Wheels Program and volunteers and ability to handle multiple functions at one time. Work performed in this position will be of a complex, professional, and confidential nature. This position has frequent contact with volunteers and the volunteer network, community organizations, business organizations, agency personnel, funders, auditors, seniors and handicapped individuals, and the general public. A positive and cooperative image is crucial for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, or a related field, preferred continuing education in volunteer management, project coordination, training, and customer service; basic to intermediate skills using Microsoft Office, understanding of volunteer network, quality assurance standards and contract compliance; valid Ohio driver’s license; vehicle available for agency use; adequate auto insurance.
