JOB CLASSIFICATION: Groceries-to-Go Coordinator
STATUS: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
LOCATION OF WORK: 670 Harmon Ave.
REPORTS TO: Home Care Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Groceries-to-Go Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the pantry which provides food, personal care items, and nutritional supplements to individuals and families who are impacted by cancer and enrolled in other LifeCare Alliance Programs. This position includes the responsibility of orienting and supervising pantry volunteers. This includes development of the Groceries-to-Go program, budgeting and financial review, development of policies and procedures, strategic planning, marketing and public relations activities. This position also works with LifeCare Alliance management, staff, volunteers, committee members and the health community.

Work requires attention to detail, good customer service skills, communication skills, supervisory skills, ability to relate to volunteers in a productive and positive manner, recruitment of volunteers, considerable understanding of individuals with chronic illnesses, aging network and funding sources, and an ability to handle multiple functions at one time. This position will have frequent contact with agency personnel, volunteers, clients, funders, case managers and the general public. This position requires an understanding of cancer.

Work performed in this position will be of a professional and confidential nature. A positive and cooperative image and attitude is crucial for this position. Work performed is under the supervision of the Home Care Manager and in cooperation with the nutrition program office staff. This position requires a significant amount of independence and self-direction to accomplish its essential functions and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s Degree or professional training in social services or related field preferred. Minimum of six (6) months experience working with volunteers preferred. This employee must have strong customer relations, multi-task skills and be detailed oriented.
