LifeCare Alliance is one of the region’s largest non-profits serving older adults and individuals with medical challenges or disabilities within a five-county area in central Ohio. Maybe you’ve heard of our programs: Meals-on-Wheels, The Columbus Cancer Clinic, Project Open Hand, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, or one of the other 7 health and human services programs we lead.  Our mission is to keep individuals nourished, safe, and independent, living in their own homes – right where they want to be.

We’re looking for a talented graphic designer to join our in-house Marketing & Brands agency. Someone who thrives on variety in their daily work, who is dynamic, collaborative, and would be inspired putting their creative skills to work in service to a higher mission. This is an exciting time to join LifeCare Alliance as we look to expand our brand awareness and the services of our in-house Marketing & Brands agency.

The position will support the Agency’s marketing, donor, and internal communications efforts under the general supervision of the Director of Strategic Communications.  As the successful candidate, you are comfortable and experienced in traditional, digital, and multimedia design, as well as photography, video editing and production. You possess a high level of proficiency with all programs in the Adobe Creative Suite and other design, presentation, email and content management software such as Constant Contact, PowerPoint, and WordPress.

You’re a visual communications expert confident leading design on a wide spectrum of projects including digital, print, presentation, email, website, social media, signage, exhibits and other visual branding assets as needed.

You can work effectively under the pressure of multiple deadlines. You enjoy presenting your work to team members and clients.  You’re able to collaborate closely with writers, videographers, and other creatives to tell compelling stories about the people we serve and the impact of our donors’ support.  You’re a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm for your profession and for expanding your creative horizons.

 

About the Position

The position is part of the Agency’s Advancement team.  It supports marketing and communications across the Agency and for the Advancement team on targeted programs for donors, volunteers, large-scale events, and other team needs. Work requires strong creative, graphic design, video, and communication skills, as well as extreme attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Work performed in this position will be of a professional and confidential nature. Work requires an understanding of general office and professional conduct.  This position requires a professional demeanor at all times to project a positive image that is crucial to the success of the Agency. As with all Advancement work, this position will have frequent contact with donors, volunteers, clients, agency personnel, and at times media partners.

 

Principal Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Strong design skills cross multi-platforms, print, email, Web, social, video, presentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and video editing.
  • Stays up to date with design software, technology, and trends.
  • Experienced using MS Office
  • Comfortable with technology and able to collaborate with IT peers to problem-solve and advance the Agency’s customer journey initiatives through effective User Interface and design.
  • Creative and critical thinker, able to brainstorm and execute on ideas.
  • Understands message/brand hierarchy and how to organize information.
  • Ability to execute a comprehensive corporate identity program and develop guidelines for widespread implementation and adoption across all programs.
  • Manages website design and assists with website maintenance through content management systems, specifically WordPress.
  • Works with vendors to appropriately plan, deliver, and approve creative material.
  • Understands mission, message and various audiences to ensure all creative is compelling, relevant, and on-brand.
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Experienced integrating media elements (audio/video/animation files) using various software for optimizing performance.
  • Develops and presents finalized ideas and concepts to peers, internal stakeholders, and clients to gain feedback and consensus for team creative ideas.
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Team player able to confer with communications and Advancement team to determine objectives, background information, presentation approaches, etc.
  • Industry knowledge and sophisticated application of design, typography, illustration, photography, color theory, motion graphics and multimedia.
  • Able to prepare and present detailed storyboards showing sequence and timing of story development for video/animated productions.
  • Ability to make independent decisions within brand parameters and use problem-solving skills.
  • Organizes and archives project files and photography on network drives. Experience with marketing asset management systems a plus.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts or design
  • Prior design experience preferred, agency experience a plus
  • Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Prior photography, video, web, social media, email design experience preferred
  • Flash/animation skills are a bonus

 

Working Conditions

Full time employment working eight (8) hours per day, forty hours per week, between 8 a.m. opening and 5 p.m. closing, Monday through Friday; schedule may change to include potential early morning, weekend or evening hours.
